Kay Gerken

A busy mom with two rowdy boys, Kay pursued her real estate license in 1977. Over the years, she's enhanced her real estate knowledge by receiving several real estate designations, including GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), LTG (Leadership Training Graduate), and PMN (Performance Management Network). Kay is also a member of the Women's Council of Realtors (WCR).

An active member in the Tri-Lakes Board of Realtors, Kay served as Board President in 1991 and received the Realtor of the Year Award in 1992. She was instrumental in forming the local Board Leadership Academy training members of the history and governance of the local organization.

Kay served as the 2004 President of the Missouri Association of Realtors (MAR). With over 24,000 members, MAR has an influential role with Missouri's legislators to protect private property rights. Under Kay’s leadership, MAR took a proactive commitment to create a business friendly environment in Missouri. MAR held its first Economic Development Summit in 2004 which hosted local and state government leaders, economic developers, Realtors, and business people throughout Missouri. She currently serves as the local REALTOR liaison for MAR and State Representative Lyle Rowland.

Besides her Realtor involvement, Kay plays an active role in the Branson Tri-Lakes community. For three years, she served as Chairman of the Board for the College of the Ozarks Associates. She has served as an Ambassador for the Branson Chamber of Commerce and has attended "Breakfast with the Legislators" in Jefferson City sponsored by the Springfield and Branson Chambers.  Kay is a supporter of the Branson Arts Council and an active member of the Catholic Church. She also volunteers her time to the Taneyhills Library.

Now that those two rowdy boys have grown up and joined the firm as brokers, she and her husband Duane are enjoying the fruit of the years of labor. They have taken up ballroom dancing and traveling a bit to places they always talked about seeing.

General Interests

Reading a good book by the fireplace in the winter or on the swim dock in the summer, ballroom dancing, cruising in the Z3 with the top down, playing cards (Hand & Foot) with friends, and traveling.

Music

I'm a 50's and 60's rock n' roller, today's music "ain't got the same soul" as that old time rock n' roll. I also enjoy the classics of ballroom dance music, from swing to tango.
